Workshop Description & Modules

This series is comprised of four 90-minute video classes that explore how to access key structures and principles of movement, including cellular consciousness. The first two modules focus on the upper body, and the second two focus on the lower body.

  1. Upper Body: Lungs & Respiration
    Awaken the cells of the lungs and respiratory tract through breathing and movement to bring deeper awareness, ease, and spaciousness to your spine and arms.

  2. Upper Body: Heart & Circulation
    Open to the cellular consciousness of the heart and its vascular extremities. Movement flows in a continuous stream, filling your asanas with vitality and calm.

  3. Lower Body: Spine & Pelvis
    Bring clarity and ease to the lower spine and pelvis. Explore the mobility of each pelvic bone and the sacrum to achieve clear articulation in your hips and quietness in your spine.

  4. Lower Body: Feet & Forelegs 
    Bring awareness to your feet and forelegs. Utilize mobile feet to continually adjust to subtle shifts of weight, rooting your asanas into and rising out of the earth.

About Your Teacher

BONNIE BAINBRIDGE COHEN

Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen is a movement artist, researcher, educator and therapist, and the developer of the Body-Mind Centering® approach to movement, the body, and consciousness. Since founding The School for Body-Mind Centering ® in 1973, her work has influenced the fields of yoga, movement, dance, bodywork, body psychotherapy, childhood education, and other body-mind disciplines.

She has been exploring yoga for over 50 years. From 2002 - 2012, she offered two Body-Mind Centering® and Yoga programs: a 340-hour Embodied Anatomy and Yoga program and a 260-hour Embodied Developmental Movement and Yoga program.

Bonnie authored the books Sensing, Feeling, and Action , Basic Neurocellular Patterns: Exploring Developmental Movement , and The Mechanics of Vocal Expression, and has numerous videos on embodied anatomy, embryology, cellular consciousness, dance, and working with children with special needs.

She has a new video on Yoga and Developmental Movement coming out later this year.
